SALAMANDER COVID-19 PROTOCOLS

Update 28th July 2021

We look forward to welcoming guests on board Salamander for our UK Summer Season.

AMBITION

Our ambition, as always, is to look after all our guests and crew to the best of our ability to try to ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable day out.

Covid-19 has required we take on board further measures for the safety of all guests and crew.

Salamander is an ocean-going 58 foot sailing yacht with the advantage of spacious outdoor and indoor areas including a deck saloon with wrap round windows.

Guests should continue to socially distance from those they do not live with wherever possible. Social interactions should be limited to a group of no more than two households (indoors and out) or up to six people from different households (if outdoors). Where two households are meeting they should still remain socially distanced.

Whilst it is not possible to guarantee Salamander, her crew and arriving guests are Covid-free we feel confident that working together responsibly we can substantially reduce the risk of transmission of this virus by preparing Salamander, her crew and guests as best we can.

COVID-19 SECURE - WORKING TOGETHER

Preparation

All bookings will be on-line and made in advance.

Before and after every charter Salamander will be cold-fogged throughout with an ULV Fogger using an antibacterial spray, Steri–7 Xtra*, a high level hospital/surgical grade disinfectant for, we believe, fast, safe and effective decontamination which includes Reactive Barrier Technology giving added biosecurity and protection between cleans.

Prior to guests arriving all surfaces in the galley, upper and lower saloons, heads will be wiped down with Steri-7 Xtra* disinfectant, including all door handles and hand rails.

24 Hours before your Event Date

In the period 24 hours or less before the Event Date all guests will be asked to fill in a brief Health Declaration and NHS Track and Trace Form on line.

For the safety of all guests and crew,

if any guest displays any of the following symptoms prior to boarding:-

  • temperature above 37.8° C / 100° F,

  • fever,

  • new continuous cough,

  • sore throat,

  • loss of smell or taste,

  • shortness of breath,

  • persistent pain in the chest,

or if any guest in the last 10 days prior to boarding Salamander,

  • has been in close contact with anyone infected by Covid-19,

  • has visited any part of the UK which has been under lockdown,

  • has visited any country which the UK Government has not confirmed is exempt from any requirements to quarantine or self-isolate,

it will be with regret that all guests in the Charter Party will not be permitted to board Salamander and a refund will not be available (a credit note for 75% of the value of the charter will be available, valid for 12 months).

For the safety of all guests and crew if any guest prior to boarding,

doesn’t bring a face covering with them,

or doesn’t sanitise their hands when asked by the skipper, or crew

it will be with regret that the guest will not be permitted to board Salamander and a refund will not be available.

The Event Date

Guest’s temperature checks will be taken prior to boarding Salamander.

Guests will be asked to use hand sanitiser before boarding Salamander to reduce the risk of transmission by touching surfaces.

Guests will be encouraged to sanitise their hands thoroughly and frequently whilst on board Salamander. Compatible Steri-7 Xtra* hand sanitisers and wipes will be available.

Social Distancing between guests not in the same household should be observed, ideally at 2 metres but at 1 metre if that’s not possible. The use of face coverings is required at all times indoors where Social Distancing of 2 metres is not possible for the safety of guests and crew.

Guests who are accompanied by children are responsible for supervising them at all times and should follow social distancing guidelines.

Guests must ensure they bring their own face covering and keep it upon their person at all times. Face coverings should not be disposed of on board Salamander.

Guests must at all times adhere to any instruction given by the skipper, as the skipper will have an interest in the safety of all the guests and crew on board Salamander, particularly with regards to, but not limited to, social distancing.

Ideally a day out on board Salamander can be enjoyed entirely outdoors on deck.

The charter party will have use of a head (lavatory) for their sole use.  Crew will use a separate head.

Crew will be expected to sanitise their hands prior to boarding Salamander and thoroughly and frequently whilst on board.
