Prior to joining us full-time in Darwin, Australia for the return passage to the UK Julian White completed two large paintings of Salamander, one under tight exam conditions, during his sixth form at school for A level exams.

Salamander of Lymington was featured in the 2014 December issue of the international magazine Yachting World.

 

The article was a main feature covering over 8 pages.

 

We were approached by Berthon, who asked if we would be happy for Yachting World to get in touch with us...

 

We did it, but we didn’t plan it. 

 

We knew Salamander, a 1987 Sparkman and Stephens 58ft Nauticat 521, could do it, but could we? It took 9 months to prepare Salamander and ourselves, a family of four novice sailors. We returned to Lymington three years and 35,000 NM...
