The Salamander Sailing Adventure only has one yacht available for charter, Salamander of Lymington, which perhaps not surprisingly we know inside and out.

 

Salamander is a beautifully designed traditional yacht, designed in the days before modern mass-produced boats. Why do we say this with such confidence? … well she is designed by the celebrated Sparkman and Stephens, the American design house who designed yachts for the America's Cup, and built by Nauticat in Finland.

 

How many opportunities do you get to experience life on board an ocean going yacht? We have sailed in excess of 45,000 nautical miles on board our yacht, Salamander of Lymington, including circumnavigating the world for 3 years - crossing the North Atlantic, the Pacific, the South Indian and the South Atlantic oceans, visiting many far flung countries on the way, before crossing the North Atlantic again on our return back here in the UK. You will have the opportunity, if you wish, to learn some of the ropes and to hear a tale or two of life on board, or to simply sit back and relax.

 

Salamander offers a warm pilot house with great all round visibility where you can sit comfortably inside should the weather be grey or wet outside. The pilot house arrangement allows you to sit high above the water rather than below, above decks rather than below decks.

 

Salamander has a classically designed solid teak interior with a choice of places to relax, sit and dine, in the large upper pilot house or the smaller saloon below.

 

You can choose bespoke menus individually prepared to inspire your palate.

 

Salamander has spacious teak decks, for dining and spectating, with a solid teak hand rail all around the deck areas, for added safety for you and your guests. Salamander is probably the best charter yacht of this size to offer a solid teak hand rail on a yacht on the south coast offering added security to sailors and non-sailors alike.

 

We do not simply provide a skipper, or a skipper and mate. The Salamander Sailing Adventure is different in that we are the only yacht charter company on the south coast to offer you a world circumnavigator skipper, a further crew person and a dedicated steward to look after you and your guests all day.

 

Modern mass produced yachts can have modest engines to save weight and space. Again Salamander is different … she is a powerful motor-sailor, designed to both sail and motor efficiently, to keep to schedules, cruising under motor comfortably in excess of 1,000 nautical miles if the wind drops.

 

You shouldn’t have to worry all day about banging your head on board a yacht. Salamander has the best headroom … a generous 2 metres throughout the saloons, the galley, the cabins and the heads.

 

Salamander of Lymington is MCA safety coded to carry up to 12 passengers and 3 crew, although you may prefer or choose to sail with fewer on board.
